 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Details of installation of rack-mount assembly of a back suspension bracket are shown on an illustration to which all references which are found in the text belong.
  2. Remove back wheels, remove the spare wheel (except models with fastening of the last on the holder behind a door of a back and models 163.174). At the corresponding complete set remove the external holder of a spare wheel.
  3. On models 163.174 (ML 55 AMG) remove loker of protection of wheel arches.
  4. Uncover (75r).
  5. Give nuts (75a) of fastening of rack-mount assembly to a side beam of a frame.
  6. Having blocked a carving rod from a provorachivaniye, release a nut (75u) of the lower support of the shock-absorber (75) on the lower cross lever of a suspension bracket (67).
  7. Prop up the lower cross lever of a suspension bracket (67).
  8. Release a nut and remove a connecting bolt (78f) of fastening to the lower lever (67) of the torsion bar (77).
  9. Having released nuts of fixing bolts, disconnect the lever (67) from a stretcher and carefully lower it down, removing from a guide.
  10. Release a carving rod of rack-mount assembly of the shock-absorber (75) from the lever (67), - in case of need use the hammer with soft brisk.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Details of installation of components of rack-mount assembly of a back suspension bracket are shown on an illustration to which all references which are found in the text belong.
  2. Having squeezed a screw spring by means of special adaptation (01, 01a), take the shock-absorber (75).
  3. Release the tool squeezing a spring.
  4. Estimate a condition of the top components of the shock-absorber, replace the failed details.

Track also correctness of installation of a washer (75g).

  1. Attentively study a condition of a rod of the piston of the shock-absorber, - in case of identification of deformations or signs of violation of smoothness of a piston stroke the shock-absorber is subject to replacement.
  2. Make sure of lack of signs of development of external leaks.
  3. Replace the defective shock-absorber, - it is better in a set with the second.
  4. Collect rack-mount assembly, - compression of a spring is made by means of special adaptation again.

Installation

Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components. At installation of the cross lever the back bridge has to hold strictly horizontal position. Track correctness of landing of a cover (75r).
