Removal and installation of the back driveshaft

Details of installation of the two-section back driveshaft


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

Самоконтрящиеся bolts and adjusting washers are subject to replacement without fail!

  1. Details of installation of the two-section back driveshaft are shown on an illustration to which all references which are found in the text belong.
  2. Turn out самоконтрящиеся bolts (1b) of fastening of forward section (1) of the back driveshaft to an output flange of the transfer case, remove adjusting washers (1s).
  3. Turn out самоконтрящиеся bolts (2a) of fastening of back section (2) of the driveshaft to the leading flange of back differential.
  4. Turn out screws (7d) of fastening of the intermediate bearing of assembly of the driveshaft to a frame beam.
  5. Accurately omit assembly of a shaft, give it back and take from under the car.
  6. Estimate degree of wear of the hinge of equal angular speeds (HEAS) on the forward end of a shaft, cardan hinges and the intermediate bearing, in case of need replace a shaft assembled.
  7. In case of need remove the intermediate bearing (see the Section Removal and installation of the intermediate bearing of a back bent shaft).
  8. Installation is made upside-down, - carefully smooth out the surfaces of interface, try not to allow deformations of bearing assembly.
